Funny LOOKING Lunch Box

Tonight I put some eyes on L's kindergarten lunch box. I bet she'll be surprised tomorrow. I hate making lunch bags. So I guess this is to motivate myself as well and put a smile on my face in the mornings...

Our new neighbor(s)

Since we changed the time to summer time last week, it's really light out, when we go to bed. So I decided to reinstall our window cover - some "thing" I sew last summer consisting of several layers of newspaper covered with a fabrique that matches our bedroom and which is attached to our window frame with velcro. While redoing the velcro tape on the frame, I spotted a dove in the rain drain (or whatever it's called). She is having a nest there with eggs (or at least one I saw). We hate those doves on our roof top - or basically always around the windows of our apartment under the roof. Dove poop everywhere. And I'm always scarred one day, I'll find one in my living room, bc I left the window open. Anyway... she was a big attraction to L. I had to put her up in the window spot several times and she almost wouldn't go to bed. I'm hoping we'll see the little birdies also. It would be a fun wild-life-real-life-outdoor-right-outside-of-our-window-project. We hate those doves in general. But we kinda welcome our new neighbor (gotta name her).

What...?!

Listen to this: Lenara (my TWO-year-old) and I were sitting at the dinner table just recently.

Lenara: Mommy....
Mommy: What is it, honey?
Lenara: Mommy, I think, you have a weight problem.
Mommy: What????!???

So 4 people within 3 weeks either asked, if I'm pregnant or I'd be having weight problems. Something's going real wrong here... (and honestly, I think that's why Lenara mentioned it, bc she had heard me angrily quote the earlier stories.). My...

Purzelbaum - Somersault

I have no idea, who taught her this. I don't think I've even mentioned the word before. Must have been Daddy, cousins or kids at the nanny's. I was so suprised when I looked over to her and she was doing a really good one. The ones I videotaped weren't as perfect - but still funny. ;)

Don't, Mommy!

I get to hear a lot of DONT's from my 2-year-old lately.
--
Don't chew on that pencil, Mommy.

Don't get up from the table before I'm finished, Mommy.

Don't walk in the living room with your shoes on, Mommy.
--
At times it's getting quite annoying. But it does show that she actually understood the rules that we have. So yeah! And I have to admit, she is right sometimes. It's funny how it makes you realize how important Mommies are as rolemodels.

Yet today, I got to hear a new one. Soooo funny. We were sitting at the lunch table. Eating, talking. Like usually. Nothing special. I must have been drifting away in my thoughts and suddenly she got very angry:

Don't look at my pacifier, Mommy!!!

Ewwww, what???? My face must have been turned toward the pacifier lying on the table, while I was dreaming. And it made her really really angry. I thought it was too funny. So later on I kept teasing her: Lala, I'm looking at your pacifier!!! Look! Look! I'm looking... And it became a really good joke. We cracked down laughing. I think it's one of our first running gags.

Fleck!

Lenara has this habit of rubbing moles (on my or Daddy's neck) whenever she's tired. Also while falling asleep. While Daddy is cool with it, it drives me crazy. CRAZY! And the moles on my neck hurt already due to all the rubbing.

So today I had an idea:

Good luck, Annabel! Your turn!

P.S. One more proof of how crazy motherhood can be. If someone would have told me I would be sewing a mole on a doll 3 years earlier... LOL

Some sort of Tongue

My friend and I put our kids in a bathtub together last night. While watching them play I tried to remember, if Lenara had ever seen a boy naked in her life before (occasions are rare, let me tell you!). I dropped the thought. Only one minute later Lenara goes: "Mommy, Mommy, look, look, a tongue sticking out! Look! Look, Mommy!" Pointing to little A.'s penis.

Lala's Style

She insisted on her and me wearing the stockings like that this morning. We had some good laughs to say the least...

Dance Action

The actual funny part was that she tried immitating my dance style. Unfortunately not in view of the camera. So this cute video ends with me making a fool of myself... hope you enjoy!

[Haven't been clubbing in forever. This is our morningly replacement.]

Christmas with a Toddler!

You know you have a toddler at Christmas when...
You sing "Noel, Noel..." and your toddler is shaking here head violently and waving he finger. We don't even say "no" because we dont want her to say it. It's encoded i n their toddler souls!
Poinsettias are pretty poisonous and Olivia thinks its okay to eat flowers since she eats leafy spinach, so we've kept poinsettias out of the house this year.
This is what the behind-the-scenes looked l like when we were taking Christmas photos.

I could only get Olivia to sit still holding a book...just so happened we just got a Christmas book. No kidding--it wasn't planned to get the photo. I was actually resigned on the photos we had (in the fireplace)...ugh, that w use as a book place since the duct is sealed closed.

Boone kept getting in the way since he is so curious.

Finally...

And, I love it!

Hoppe. hoppe, Reiter!

This is for my friend G., who has sent us her first time ever Christmas cookies. And we enjoyed them - for real! I think this cookie angel has never taken a ride on a cookie rocking horse before... Rated R!!! Angel dies at the end of the video... (I turned off the camera, may it rest in peace!) - so don't have Olive watch this!

(It was all her idea! I swear!)

Sense of Humor

Our fun little girl knows how to make herself laugh.
Standing on things and sitting on things is her new found love.
If it's on the floor or even if it's not, she'll get the idea to get on it somehow.
Today I found her sitting on a cd case ( behind our couch!) and she was looking down and just laughing and so proud.
She loves to make people laugh, and loves to to make herself smile too.
What a great quality!!

How to be a good Housewife

Another good reference as we speak of it: The Good Wife's Guide (5/13/55 Houskeeping Monthly). My favorite is #8. You're welcome, Dave! Now kiss my feet for the rest of your life...

Domestic Goddess?!

Just came across this book title and thought it's kinda funny... especially after my last post and noticing "Sewing" to be the biggest label in our cloud. Jennifer, we focus on the wrong things!
